While pursuing her master’s degree she worked full time in the Intensive Care unit and Oncology Unit at Del Sol Medical Center. In 2004, she successfully completed the Post Master’s Family Nurse Practitioner Program at University of Texas at El Paso. She received her Family Nurse Practitioner certification from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and was recognized by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse. In 2013, she began the Doctor in Nursing Practice program at the University of Texas at El Paso.In 2001 she was inducted into the Omicron Delta Chapter Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She is an active member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the Texas Nurse Practitioners Association, the American Nurses Association, and the El Paso Advanced Practiced Nurse Association.While pursuing her Doctorate in Nursing Practice she worked full time at the Soldiers Family Medical Clinic at Fort Bliss, Texas, where she plans to continue working after graduation from the DNP program.
